Conrad's first Snow and Christmas, Check, Check

What a way to have a first Christmas. Snow, lots and lots of snow! At one point we could barely see our BBQ! Tim made the best of it and had cold beer at his finger tips every evening while we were snowed in. Conrad and I did not leave the house for 3 days! AHHH!!! Finally I made Tim take us to the store to stock up on some much needed Holiday goodies. I have never walked down the aisles of a grocery store so slow before. It was a ton of fun, and we hope it snows every year. Maybe next year we can actually play in the snow with Conrad.

Even with the snow and ice, we still made it to Grandma and Grandpa's for Christmas Eve dinner and the great gift exchange! It was a great night. Christmas morning was nice and relaxed. Tim made breakfast while Conrad and I played with all his new toys. I already have all the songs of his new toys memorized. That is how much he is playing with them. We then went back to Grandma and Grandpa's for dinner. All Conrad's cousins were at their other set of Grandparents, so he just crawled around and flashed his darling smile at everyone.

Today I needed to run errands (since I have been stuck in the house for a week) while Conrad took his nap. He woke up before I got home, check out the pictures of what he and Tim were doing while I was gone! Tim put him in the Nordstrom's bag!!! Oh boys, what can I say....

Scrub, Scrub Conrad and Jack are in the Tub

How cute are these boys!!!! Oh man, they take my breath away! This is Conrad and Jack in the bath after they played their little bums off with one another. We had the Fisher's over on a very last minute play date. Tim made awesome nachos and we all just hung out. The little boys played wonderful together. They were crawling and exploring everything. It was very fun to watch them interact. After we ate and drank a little, we gave the boys a bath before bedtime. Here they are having a great time. Jack taught Conrad how to make BIG splashes. I am just glad there was not a "bio-hazard" to clean up! :)

Ever since Conrad learned how to crawl I have been looking for way to "contain" him. I think I finally found one! I put him in the laundry hamper! Ha! Now all I have to do it drag him around the house in that. Here is Conrad having a great time with mom taking him for a ride around the house. It's the smallest things that make him laugh.

O' Christmas Tree

It is officially Christmas Season! We got our Christmas Tree. Today we went with our friends to get Conrad's first Christmas Tree. It was packed with a Hay Ride, Hot Chocolate (Jenn and I shared), a barn full of gifts, animals that you could feed, and TONS of Chrstimas Trees. It would not be complete with out the rain either! We had a great time. The girls and children stayed in the gift shop/barn and out of the wetness while the boys went and got "the perfect" tree. They were SOAKED when they got back! Afterwards we went to Carols Corner for some breakfast/lunch. Here is PJ eating his "Hefty" burger. It was awesome! The little boys did a great job sitting by one another and sharing their Cherrios. Thanks Jack! Here are all the great pictures of the day. Please note the Elf and Santa outfit Mieke and Luke were sporting. They crack me up!!!
When we got home, Conrad took a 2 hour nap. He was worn out from all the activity. He had a great time getting his first Christmas Tree!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Well, Thanksgiving was wonderful this year! Although we did miss Andy and Jaime and the kids. Other then that, it was perfect! Perfect turkey with all the Miller traditional sides. It's amazing how you look forward to certain things around this time of year, or maybe that is just me. Although, somehow I do not think I am the only one in this gravy boat. It was Conrad's first of many Thanksgivings. Maybe next year he will actually be able to eat what everyone else is eating. He did great though. He sat in his high-chair and munchin' on his puffs watching everyone around him. He had fun watching me kick Uncle Mark's butt in boxing! Oh yeah, not just once, but 2 out of 3. It was fun. Molly was cheering for me and excited when I won. I totally did a victory dance! I was a sweaty mess afterwards but it was worth it! I hope all of you had as a wonderful Thanksgiving as we did.

Weekend Get-A-Way

Last weekend we went to Anderson Island. It was nice to get away if only for a weekend. When we got there it was very cold! Conrad needed a bath so you can see how he was brought in! How cute is his little bum. I was laughing so hard, I about had tears coming down. Also at the cabin were Conrad's cousins, Lucy and Molly. They were coloring machines! Molly likes to think while putting the marker in her nose. I thought Tim was to cry he was laughing so hard! Lucy got some snuggling time with Cosmo, our dog. She really wanted Cosmo to sit with her, and he finally did. We had a great time, eating, drinking, squid jigging, and relaxing. It is always a bummer to come back to reality!

Conrad's "BFF" turns 1!

Conrad attended his first friend Birthday party. His friend, Jack turned 1 this week! Wow! What a year. It was a wonderful party. Jack wasn't so interested in the cake though. He really wanted to play with all his new loot! Who can blame him!?! Here are the girls and Conrad with the naked Birthday boy. And below are Conrad and his Uncle Mark and Aunt Sarah. Their girls were busy coloring the "Jack" coloring books (nice job Linds!) and playing with all the other children. It was a great party, did I mention Cougar Gold cheese? Only the best!!! :)

In Memory of

Uncle James. Uncle James passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2008. Uncle James began Tim's uncle but also became mine 10 years ago when Tim and began dating. Uncle James was a wonderful man and will be missed by all who knew him. This is a picture of Uncle James on Christmas of 2005. He is happily sitting with our dog, Cosmo. It is with fond memories that I look at this picture and remember what a wonderful Christmas this was and all the many other great Holiday's we had with him.

No matter how much we attempt to prepare ourselves for the passing of a loved one, there is no easy way to grieve. All we are left with are the wonderful memories and life lessons in which our loved one has taught us.

If you are reading this, you have touched Tim and my life in some way. For this, I thank you. I thank you for being there for us, for being our friend. Some of you I do not see or talk with often. Some of you I speak with everyday. Those of you who I do not talk with often, I think of you and miss you. I know our lives get busy or you live far away, but I think of you often and wonder how you are doing. For those of you who I see and talk with often, well I know how you are doing I talk to you every day for crying out loud! (sorry, it was getting to heavy!) Seriously though, you all mean the world to me and I would do anything for you. I truly cherish each friendship, close or otherwise. Everyone of you has taught me something that I will carry with me forever. You have touched my heart. Thank you, thank you for just being you!

The Golden State

This past weekend we went to Huntington Beach, CA. for one of my sorority sister's wedding reception. We had a great time! We arrived Friday and went to Erin's (bride) in-laws house for a BBQ. What a nice family! And boy can they bake! It was nice to see Erin and now husband, Daniel. It had been a long time and there was tons to catch up on! On Saturday we met Erin for breakfast (Erin put Daniel to work so he was not able to join us). Then in the afternoon we headed over to the reception. It was wonderful! The weather was nice and hot, if fact Conrad was so hot we ditched his pants! Everyone got to see his cute chunky thighs. Also at the reception were more sorority sisters, Kathleen, Mira and Bree. We were all able to sit together, catch-up, and rehash old times. It was really great to see them. Again, it's been WAY to long. Man, time really does fly by!
After the reception, Conrad went down for a well deserved nap. Then Tim, Conrad and I walked on the pier (Conrad lost his pants, again) then we headed to In and Out Burger. Conrad had a great time watching Tim down "The world's Greatest Burger." Tim was in heaven!
Sunday, we headed home. We were dropped off by Grandma Susan and then I changed and headed to my friend of 20 plus years baby shower. Tim and Conrad stayed behind and caught up on some well deserved rest.
The weekend flew by, but I am glad I got to see all my friends and that they were able to meet Conrad.

Here is Conrad playing in the Hotel room, Tim and Conrad on the pier (notice the absent pants), and me putting Conrad to bed (or did I put myself to bed? I wonder who actually fell asleep first?) :)

Happy Halloween!!

Today Conrad, cousins Alex and Jilly, and Aunt Jaime went to my office for some early trick-or-treating. My office decorates the entire building for foster children. Everyone gets all dressed up and trick-or-treats through the building. It is wonderful and everyone gets really into it. We're talking fog machines, customs, strobe lights, the whole bit. There were even 2 dogs there. One was Toto the dog and one was dressed as a pumpkin. Here is Conrad with his friend, Grace. I work with Grace's mommy, Jenn. Grace is a skunk and Conrad is a firefighter. They are sitting in the foggy woods...Aren't they adorable!!!

Trick-or-Treat

Monday night we went to our friend's the Currie's house to carve pumpkins. This was the 4th annual pumpkin carving they have had. Each year gets better and better. They have food (Haley always has peanut M&M's, my favorite!!), carving utensils, and prises! It was so much fun! Everyone is getting really creative. Conrad is in his PJ's, he got to stay up way past his bed time! He loved watching everyone and seeing all the pumpkins lit up at the end of the evening. Can you guess which pumpkin is Tim's?

The Spud State

This past weekend we went to Idaho to visit Aunt Kelly, Uncle Chris, and dog cousin Sage. This was Conrad's first time on an airplane. He did great! He played on the way there and fell asleep in Tim's arms on the way home. Aunt Kelly and Uncle Chris picked us up and helped carry all of our loot to their house. It would be tragic if we left anything at home, and God forbid we have to go to the store!! :)

Conrad had a wonderful time with his Aunt and Uncle! I don't think he was put down the entire weekend! Conrad had fun hanging out with Uncle Chris and dad while Aunt Kelly and I went and got pedicures, and then fancy cupcakes. WOW! Those were good!!! The next day we went to our favorite BBQ joint, The Rib Shack. It has the best food I have had, and not to mention the pickles...Uncle Chris and I share one. We then toured around the area, visiting the fire station Uncle Chris works at and the mall to pick up some Idaho Spuds for Great-grandma Virginia. (We don't tell her she can get them at 7-11, they are better this way!) Saturday night we went out to dinner then came back and had a Cranium tournament-boys against girls. The boys cheated so they took the victory. Although we gave a good shot. Sunday morning Aunt Kelly and I ditched the boys and hit some shops. We then grabbed some lunch and headed to the airport. The flight home was over-booked so we were all crammed in there. Conrad was very sleepy from his fun adventures, and fell asleep in Tim's arms. Too cute!

After we got in on Sunday, we literally dropped our bags and headed over to Grandma Lynn and Papa Dick's for family pumpkin carving. That was fun! Stew and Carmel apples. Nothing says fall like those foods!

There were so many fun pictures from the trip that I had to make a slide show. Hope you enjoy!

TIS THE SEASON...For snot, sneezes, and coughing. That's right, all the Pfeifer's have had a cold. I got it first then Tim and Conrad. It was not fun. So since I have been under the weather, let me catch you up on the last 2 weeks.

Below is Conrad brushing his teeth. Thank you Aunt Kelly! We are learning good habits early and have the necessary tools thanks to Conrad's Aunt Kelly. Above is Conrad in his jammies attempting to crawl. He really wants to do and is trying very hard. Also above is Conrad at Kornblats. It is a great Jewish place to eat on NW 23rd. Tim and I love it! The pickles are to die for! I made Tim take us out after being home-bound for 2 days. Conrad was helping me decide what to order. He was very busy people watching. What can I say, he gets that from me. (although it's acceptable for him to look at people weird). :)

Last Sunday Conrad went on a sleeping strike. After 3 hours of bargaining, we finally came to an agreement. He slept with Tim on the couch. How sweet is he??

Ok, this is a bit random and you may all be aware of these, but I found the best new product today. Lysol Dual Action Wipes! Told you it was random...I love them, just wanted to share that. :) I also have to say to Aunt Jaime-great job today! I am very proud of you and you are inspiring!

Stayed tuned...we have a very busy October/November planned.

RAINY FRIDAYS

What do you do on days where you do not even want to leave the house? You have your big cousin "J" over and learn how to make brownies! Conrad is watching his big counsin "J" make brownies. He was a big help and learned how to crack an egg. :)

I have to say, there is nothing better then hot brownies right out of the oven!

Rub a Dub-Dub, Conrad's in the Tub!!!

I have to admit this is my favorite time of the day. As you can see, Conrad loves his bath time. He plays with his duckie and sings while getting cleaned. And when we done, daddy is waiting with a clean towel to dry him off, diaper, and put jammies on him. You can almost see his teeth on one pictures!

There is nothing better then a clean, sweet smelling baby to put to bed!!

Smile!

Conrad enjoying a nice morning fire at the beach.

Hello All! I am excited to start this new adventure. You will have to bare with me as I navigate through this and figure it out. Tim and I thought this was a perfect way to keep in touch with all of you. We also thought it would be a good way for everyone to keep up to date on Conrad with new adventures and milestones in his life. I hope all of you are wonderful and I look forward to getting some feedback on what you think on our new adventure! (Like we need another one!)

If we have not talked in a while, let me get you up to speed on our lives. Tim and I (well mostly I) had our first son, Conrad on 2/24/08. Two weeks before that we sold our house and moved in with my parents. It was very kind of them to up-root their entire upstaris and allow us to stay there. We lived there for about 6 months then moved into Tim's Mother's house. We have been here for about 3 months now. Do we have the best parents or what? So now we have a 7 month son, Conrad and a dog, Cosmo.

Conrad is growing very quickly. He has 4 teeth and is working on 2 more. Thank you to Aunt Kelly for all the great advise with this! He rolls over and is just trying to get up on his knees for his first big crawl. He loves his 4 cousins, aunts and uncles, and grandparents. He gets to spend all day Monday with his grandma Susan, all day Tuesday with grandma Lynn, and half day Wednesday with his Aunt Jaime while I am at work. Thank you eveyone! We could not do it with out you! He loves spending time with everyone, and he LOVES watching and learning from his big cousins.

Last weekend we went to Cannon Beach. Conrad loved the fresh air and watching the waves. Here are some pictures of the trip. There are also other pictures of Conrad being Condrad.

Conrad and Great Grandma Mildred.

Happy Baby!
